The Discussion of Weather Events Daily for Philadelphia and Pennsylvania

Good Morning Philadelphia!
I'm glad to announce that these
discussions will continue until at least the end of
this Year!.
I
have the necessary server space.
In short: Skies are clear
allowing chilly temperatures tonight. Some lake effect clouds/snow is happening
way out to our northwest. Nothing to worry about in
Philadelphia.
Another shot of snow or sleet is slated for Saturday.
In long: I have NO time to
do an adequate discussion today, so here is a quick run down of the surface map
through the weekend showing the next hit of rain, then snow. Sorry about
that.
The Low in Texas and the rain and snow north of it is the budding baby of what is to rapidly become a BIG storm on the east coast.
By Saturday night 7pm, the Low is gaining strength on the Gulf Coast and pulling a LOT of moisture. Notice the system is mostly rain with snow only on the northern (and probably western) side.
By Sunday morning, a mix of ice and rain hit Philadelphia. We will be RIGHT on the edge between the two precipitation types.
For Sunday night 7pm, the storm continues to pound the east coast with mainly heavy rain (except snow and ice on the northwest side).
Monday morning, we are STILL under the influence of the system with some lighter snow filtering in.
I'll meet you here Saturday night (I'm teaching all day Saturday).
